{"id":111295,"date":"2023-04-12T12:13:05","date_gmt":"2023-04-12T11:13:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/?p=111295"},"modified":"2024-06-05T11:03:21","modified_gmt":"2024-06-05T10:03:21","slug":"industrial-heating-oil-kerosene-financial-support-scheme-rebated-fuel-entitlement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/news\/industrial-heating-oil-kerosene-financial-support-scheme-rebated-fuel-entitlement\/","title":{"rendered":"Industrial Heating Oil &amp; Kerosene Financial Support Scheme &amp; Rebated Fuel Entitlement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<p>Following the Spring Budget 2023, several measures have been announced by the government to support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/products\/industrial-heating-oil\/\">Industrial Heating Oil (IHO)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/products\/kerosene\/\">kerosene<\/a> users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organisations can now apply for support (a fixed \u00a3150 payment) towards their energy bills until Friday 28<sup>th<\/sup> April for non-domestic properties which are not connected to the grid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div><a class=\"wp-block-crownoil-button button button--small\" style=\"--bg-clr:var(--yellow);--text-clr:var(--body-colour)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/apply-for-energy-bill-support-for-non-domestic-properties\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apply here<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<p>In addition, rebated kerosene and IHO can now be used for the purpose of heating on business premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To help shed some light, we\u2019ve taken a deeper look at the upcoming changes, including what they mean for you. Alternatively, you can speak to a fuel specialist on <a href=\"tel:03301231444\" class=\"rulertel\">0330 123 1444<\/a> who will be able to advise you further.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-financial-support-scheme-launched-for-heating-oil-users\">Financial support scheme launched for heating oil users<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A Non-Domestic Alternative Fuel Payment Portal is being launched to support off-grid businesses with their heating costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Businesses that consumed over 10,000 litres of heating oil in a recent 12 month period are now entitled to extra payments which will be tiered according to usage up to \u00a35,800.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bespoke arrangements can also be made for high volume users that consume over 150,000 litres every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Non-domestic properties include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"tick-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>farms, warehouses, pubs and hotels run by businesses or individuals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>those run by voluntary sector organisations, such as charities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>places of worship and community halls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>public buildings, such as schools, hospitals and prisons<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-blue-color has-text-color\">Are there any instances where users are not covered under the scheme?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Whilst fuel used for space heating and industrial processes is covered by the scheme, organisations that use the fuel for the following purposes are not eligible:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"tick-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>generating electricity which is then returned to the grid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>transportation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>selling to end-users in another location<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s also important to note that gas oil is not covered under this scheme.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-blue-color has-text-color\">How do I apply for the scheme?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re a business with a non-domestic property that\u2019s connected to the grid, you will receive an automatic \u00a3150 payment through your energy supplier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re an off-grid businesses that doesn\u2019t automatically receive support, you can apply for a fixed alternative fuel payment or \u00a3150 through the portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can apply for the fixed \u00a3150 payment if:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the property is not connected to the gas grid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the property is not connected to the electricity grid<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>you purchased alternative fuels for use at the property between September 2022 and January 2023<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alternative fuels include liquid petroleum gas (LPG), solid fuel, wood or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/products\/kerosene\/\">kerosene<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/products\/heating-oil\/\">heating oil<\/a>).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To apply for the top-up payment, you must provide:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"tick-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>proof of address<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>company registration details<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>proof of purchase (receipts over a 12-month period, starting 1<sup>st<\/sup> September 2021 for the top-up or for the \u00a3150 fixed payment, one invoice that proves your purchase of alternative fuels for use at the property dated between September 2022 to January 2023)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>bank account details<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Businesses are urged to apply now as the portal closes on Friday 28<sup>th<\/sup> April.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div><a class=\"wp-block-crownoil-button button button--small\" style=\"--bg-clr:var(--yellow);--text-clr:var(--body-colour)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/apply-for-energy-bill-support-for-non-domestic-properties\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apply here<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Update to rebated heating oil entitlement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In April 2022, new duty rules were introduced which resulted in many businesses losing their entitlement to use rebated diesel and biofuels, including marked oils. However; there have since been a few small amendments to this initial legislation with new guidance issued relating to \u2018generating heat\u2019 for premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means that using a system to provide warmth to a room or building, or using a boiler or other appliance to heat water or other substances for use in or on the premises is entitled to use fully rebated kerosene and Industrial Heating Oil (IHO) on any premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Still have unanswered questions?
