What is odourless kerosene?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

During the refining process for odourless kerosene from crude oil<\/a>, the distillate is dearomatised and desulfurised in order to reduce the odour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Odourless kerosene is mainly used as a solvent or lubricant. It is a blend of high-boiling range aliphatic hydrocarbons with a high flashpoint. It\u2019s not miscible with water and takes the form of a pale liquid that is chemically stable, virtually odourless and non-corrosive. However, it must be handled with care as it is flammable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note that as excise duty has not been paid, odourless kerosene cannot be used as a heating fuel, motor fuel, additive or extender to motor fuel.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
