The British Truck Racing Association was founded shortly after in 1984 and has been the event\u2019s governing body ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Representing some of the biggest OEM and vehicle manufacturers from around the world, the championship delivers exhilarating speeds and competitive fanfare to its legions of fans. Split into two racing segments: Division 1 is home to the most advanced and bespoke braking and suspension systems whilst Division 2 is likened towards more production-based machines. Both divisions are sure to bring fast-paced heart-stopping moments throughout the 2021 season.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the official sponsor of <a href=\"https:\/\/btra.co.uk\/drivers\/adam-bint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Division 2 Bint Racing<\/a> for this season, Crown Oil is fuelling the team\u2019s race truck and DAF XF pace truck with its 100% renewable HVO fuel for all 2021 racing events; the first taking place at Donington Park\u2019s Convoy in the Park on the 21-22<sup>nd<\/sup> August. Crown Oil\u2019s award-winning HVO tanker will also join the many racing enthusiasts this weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bint Racing\u2019s Volvo White Aerodyne race truck has been in the Racing World since 1992, making it one of the oldest trucks on the British grid today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bint Racing is in good company as last month, Crown Oil became the first UK fuel supplier to switch its entire fleet over to fossil-free fuel, bringing a predicted saving of approximately 3,080 tonnes of net CO<sub>2<\/sub> every year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>As part of our journey to net zero carbon, Bint Racing is using HVO to eliminate up to 90% of net CO2 and significantly reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx), pariculate matter (PM) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions. This weekend, we will save over 1600kg of net CO2, and as always, are proud to be at the front. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Poor air quality in the UK kills around 40,000 people each year. The two pollutants of most concern are microscopic airborne particles (PM2.5 and PM10) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2). We, Bint Racing, want to be part of the solution, not the problem.<\/p>\n<cite>Bint Racing lead driver, adam bint<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-hvo-green-color has-text-color\" id=\"h-how-does-hvo-compare-to-diesel\">How does HVO compare to diesel?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The renewable diesel fuel has been produced to tackle the environmental and performance inadequacies of early generation biofuels and conventional fuels. It meets bio content requirements with no FAME included, so avoids the instability and operability issues seen by many low blend diesel fuels and high blend biofuels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This allows HVO to be safely stored for up to ten years, whereas regular diesel, even under ideal conditions,can&nbsp;only be&nbsp;stored&nbsp;for between six and twelve months. Using HVO significantly reduces the risk of fuel contamination, breakdowns and the need for regular fuel testing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extensive testing of the fuel has indicated that HVO provides better starting, cleaner combustion and consequently less chance of waxing and water retention in extreme temperatures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-hvo-green-color has-text-color\">How does HVO drive down emissions?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Produced from fully renewable materials, HVO is 100% biodegradable and renewable hydrocarbon and therefore reduces up to 90% net CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions and significantly reduces particulate matter (PM) and nitrogen oxide (NO<sub>x<\/sub>) emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For every 1,000 litres of diesel burned, fossil fuel diesel produces 3.6 tonnes of greenhouse gas CO<sub>2<\/sub>, compared to just 195kg GHG CO<sub>2<\/sub> for every 1,000 litres of HVO burned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sustainable fuel, which has been officially certified by the ISCC (International Sustainability &amp; Carbon Certification) is manufactured using organic feedstocks, such as used cooking oil. All raw materials are checked and verified, and the fuel\u2019s credentials audited by the Department for Transport (DFT) to ensure both sustainability and product integrity are certified.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Crown HVO offers one of the most rapid and economically viable routes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions for truck racing because it requires no modification to engines or equipment.
