{"id":104058,"date":"2020-11-04T09:33:36","date_gmt":"2020-11-04T09:33:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/?p=104058"},"modified":"2023-11-17T14:48:59","modified_gmt":"2023-11-17T14:48:59","slug":"star-oil-joins-the-crown-oil-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/news\/star-oil-joins-the-crown-oil-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Star Oil joins the Crown Oil Group: The Star in the Crown"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<p>We\u2019re excited to announce our latest acquisition of Stockport-based fuel supplier, Star Oil.\u00a0 Joining sister brands <a href=\"https:\/\/www.speedyfuels.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Speedy Fuels<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/news\/acquisition-beesley-fuels-creates-new-job-opportunities\/\">Beesley Fuels<\/a>, Cooke Fuels, Ingoe Oils, and Birlem Fuels, Star Oil is in good company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the acquisition, the newest edition to our family will continue to trade as Star Oil, giving us a greater presence in the North West area.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-crownoil-content-spacer content-spacer\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-about-star-oil\">About Star Oil<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Star Oil is an \u00a318m-turnover business that trades out of Stockport, Greater Manchester. Established in the 1950s, Star 24\/7 has been delivering fuel, oil and lubricants across the North West for over 60 years, making the business a great fit for the Crown Oil family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new acquisition will add eight fuel tankers to our growing fleet of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crownoil.co.uk\/fuel-tankers-fleet\/\">fuel delivery vehicles<\/a> and 11 members of staff from Star Oil will join Crown Oil, including Christian Hatherall, who will be senior operations manager for the business. Michael Doyle, who also founded Star Oil, will be leaving for new opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Managing director of Crown Oil, Matthew Greensmith commented on the acquisition: \u201cWe\u2019re excited to have announced this deal, which will see the Crown Oil family expanding once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStar has been around for 60 years and, in that time, has built up a fantastic reputation for great service, which will fit in with Crown\u2019s ideology of putting the customer first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve worked closely with Christian and Michael and we were keen to take up this opportunity to safeguard the future of Star and strengthen our North West footprint. We are looking forward to building on these successes together and we wish Michael all the best for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior operations manager, Christian Hatherall, said: \u201cI am delighted to see the completion of this deal, which has come about from the solid relationship we have built with Crown over the years.
